Lela Ruth Nabors, 76, of Columbus, MS, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, GT in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Friday, October 25 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Friday, October 25, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus, MS. Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with all arrangements.

Mrs. Nabors was born June 22, 1948, in Lowndes County to the late Charles Washington Wooten and Lela Corrine Herron Wooten. She retired from the Salvation Army after 15 years of dedication. Mrs. Nabors was of Baptist faith and attended Salvation Army Church in Columbus, MS. She was an avid Alabama fan and loved watching GunSmoke.  Mrs. Nabors loved her family very much and loved everyone who knew her.  Mrs. Nabors is preceded in death by her son- Phillip Strickland, daughter- Diane Rast, sisters- Edora Bradley and Ruth Groh.

Mrs. Nabors is survived by her brothers- William "Buddy" Wooten of Columbus, MS, and Kenneth "Buster" Stanford of Prattville, Alabama; sisters- Mary Warren of Prattville, Alabama, and Becky Rowlen of Prattville, Alabama; sons- Jimmy (Monica) Nabors of Columbus, MS, Randy Nabors of Columbus, MS, Ray (Doris) Nabors of Panama City, Florida, and Rayford (Beth) Nabors of Panama City, Florida; daughters- Rhonda (Refugio) Reyes of Columbus, MS, and Jennifer Nabors of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren- Lysa (Dakota) Sandlin, Brandon (Dakota) Nabors, Jason (Brittany) McCool, Harley (Coty) Wages, Bridgette Nabors, Savannah Nabors, Patrick Nabors, Nash Nabors, Shelby Nabors, Richie (Holly) Nabors, Ray Nabors, Rodney Nabors, Rebecca Reyes, Reanna Reyes, Khloe Reyes, Danielle Morgan, Reece Newton, and Jackson Newton; a host of great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be all grandsons of Mrs. Nabors.
