Lena Olivia Lanford Leonard, a twenty-year resident of Caledonia, MS, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Mrs. Leonard was 80 years old.
Mrs. Leonard was born on October 8th of 1941 in Sunny Hill, LA. She graduated from Franklinton High School and joined the Navy. While stationed in California she married Don Leonard, her husband for 53 years. The Navy brought them to Middleburg, FL, where they lived for 30 years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a devout follower of Christ, and served faithfully in the church, including working in women's and children's ministries.
She loved to read, cook, and do crafts. She taught herself to sew, knit, and crochet. She also enjoyed playing games with her family.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her brother Charles (Rachel) Lanford, sisters Carolyn (Albert) Lebo, Peggy (Jesse) Strickland, sons Steven, Will, Donavan (Devi), daughter Karen Leonard Smuz, and grandchildren Tessa, John, Kevin, James, Abigail, David, Christina, and Kailyn. She is preceded in death by her parents J.L. and Ollie Lanford, her sister Ernestine Miller, her husband Don Leonard, daughter-in-law Teresa Schilling Leonard and grandson Kyle Leonard.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. February 12, 2022, at Mt Pisgah Baptist Church in Mt Hermon LA.
