Harold Leon Taylor Harold Leon Taylor, 74 of Steens, MS passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at his residence. Visitation was held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Graveside services were held Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 12 noon at Memorial Gardens with Bro. James Haynes officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Taylor was born February 4, 1937 in Hamilton, MS to Alma Foster Taylor and the late Melvin Taylor. He was a lifetime resident of Steens, Lowndes Co., MS. Mr. Taylor was a foreman at CECO Building Systems for more than 30 years having retired in 1994. He loved spending time especially reading to his grandchildren; loved fishing, camping, hunting, go-cart racing and any type of ball. He was a wonderful family man. Mr. Taylor was a member of Steens Baptist Church, Steens, MS. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Taylor and Donald Taylor. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Geraldene Taylor, Steens, MS; mother, Alma Foster Taylor, Steens, MS; son, Terry (Beverly) Taylor, Sr., Steens, MS; daughters, Wanda Taylor, Murfreesboro, TN; Barbara (Danny) Jones, Arkansas and Janice Gore, Steens, MS; brother, Jimmy (Martha)Taylor, Caledonia, MS; grandchildren, Terry Taylor, Jr., Makayla Taylor, Chris Bartlett, Bobby Jones, Jordan Jones, Johnny Jones, Dakota Stokes, Kasey Taylor, Bruce Bradley, Sr.; great grandchildren, Bruce Bradley, Jr. and AmberLynn Bradley. Pallbearers are Terry Taylor, Sr., Terry Taylor, Jr., Allen Haynes, William Hall, Dakota Stokes, Brian Hall, Michael Cantrell, Bruce Bradley, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Gentiva Hospice, Dr. John Whitecar and staff.
