Lila Dona Paine, 80, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus.

Lowndes Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to be entrusted with final arrangements.

Miss Paine was born March 31, 1939, in Worcester, MA, to the late Loren Otis and Mabel Borthwick Paine. She had moved to the Columbus area from Hudson Falls, NY, in early 2000. She worked as a Personal Caregiver for many years, prior to her retirement. A Protestant by faith she had attended Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed writing and reading, especially cookbooks, and cooking.  Miss Paine was a natural caregiver, she loved everyone she met, she was patient and slow to find faults in others. She was always able to find natural beauty in everything she encountered.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Steven Paine; and one sister: Dency Lou Shelton.

She is survived by one son: David (Elizabeth) Paine of Columbus; two grandsons: Nathaniel (Christina) Paine of Albuquerque, NM, and Christopher (Sara) Paine of Columbus; one great grandson: Kayden Paine; and two brothers: Leo (Cathy) Paine of St. Joseph, MO and Jim (Peggy) Paine of Muson, ME.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215 or to the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society, 50 Airline Road, Columbus, MS 39702.
