Obituary

Linda Barham, 75, of Columbus, MS, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating.  Interment will be at Furnace Hill Cemetery, Vernon, AL. Lowndes Funeral Home is directing.

Mrs. Barham was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi on May 12, 1947, to the late Ramona Woods Rutherford Russell and Hal Burnon Rutherford.  She graduated from Greenville High School in 1964.  From 1968-to 1972, she worked at Picks Truck Stop.  Afterward, she was the manager at Sanders Oil Company for over 20 years.  For the last 7 years before retirement, she co-owned Columbus Discount Tobacco with her husband.  Mrs. Barham was also an avid bowler, spanning over 50 years.  She was a part of Monday Night Ladies League, and Thursday Night Mixed League and was also the secretary for many years.  Amy Hopper said it best by describing her:  "She was loved by all bowlers.  She was like a momma to us all."  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barham is also preceded in death by her father – James "Jimmy" Russell; son – Tommy Ray Oliver; daughter – Linda Beth Oliver; and nieces – Tamara Rene' Rutherford and Allyson Leigh Rutherford.

Mrs. Barham is survived by her husband of 39 years – Ronald Barham; children – Craig (Melanie) Barham, Tammy Michelle Davis, Russell (Felica) Goss, and Diane (Larry) Leavell; grandchildren – Kelsey (Chris) Perry, Tamron (David) Crocker, Rebecca (Bo) Helton, Kayla (Jay) Brown, Dylan Goss, Haley (Ethan) McCall, Darren Crowder, Brittany (Tracy) Martin, Lindsey (Chris) Price, Courtney (Matthew) Aaron, Jared (Lyndsey) Leavell, Tyler Leavell, Amber (Andrew) Westfall, Casey Brooke Palmer; 29 great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy;  siblings – Denny (Elsie) Rutherford and Dawn Russell Clausen; 3 nephews and 1 niece.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Hildreth, Chris Rutherford, David Tedford, Tug Fosberg, Mike Foundrin, and Taylor Rutherford.  Honorary pallbearers are Wyatt Perry, Art Johnson, Erlie Johnson, Ed Hopper, former employees of Sanders Oil Company, Bowling League, and Halcyon Hospice of Tupelo.

Memorials may be made to LeBonheur Children's Medical Center, PO Box 41817, Memphis, TN 38174 for Remi Aaron or Children's of Mississippi, Blair E. Batson Tower, 2500 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39216 in honor of Sadie Lynn Helton.
