Ellis Linwood Hughes, 74 of Ethelsville, AL  passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Arbor Woods Health and Rehab Center in Reform, AL.

No services are scheduled at this time.  Lowndes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hughes was born on January 5, 1948, to the late Rosha and Willie Neomia Holmes Hughes in Columbus, MS.  He was a member of Ethelsville Baptist Church, Ethelsville, AL, and retired as an Estimator with Industrial Fabricators. Mr. Hughes was a truck driver and carpenter.  He was a Vietnam Veteran, and a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger Sgt. He loved working in the yard, growing vegetables, and gardening. Mr. Hughes was an avid Alabama fan and loved his church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by 2 of his brothers – Jim Hughes and Joe Hughes.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife – Faye Hemphill Hughes; son – Patrick (Jessica) Hughes; grandchild – Skylar Hughes; sister – Faye Holliman and brother – Boyd Hughes; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Jim Ray, Bro. David Westmoreland, Bro. Melvin Howton and Bro. Jordan Lollar.
