Lois Virginia Poore Neyman, 92, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Windsor Place, with family at her side.

Born October 31, 1926 in Walker County, Alabama to Vada C. and Jettie Poore, Lois was the 6 th of 12 children and the 2 nd daughter.  After moving to Columbus in the late 1940s, Lois met and married James E. Neyman on October 25, 1947. They raised three sons and two daughters in the New Hope community.

Lois's first love in life was her family and she looked forward to each visit and phone call, keeping up with the events in each loved one's life and making sure everyone was remembered on their birthdays.  Her second love was her church family. She attended Mt. Vernon Church faithfully since the 1950s, serving over the years as a Sunday School teacher for children and adults, as the Cookie Lady for Children's Sunday School, and in the WMU.  In more recent years, she looked forward to trips and events with the Older Kids ministry and visiting with those lifelong friends.  Lois took great pride in her yard and flowers, happily transplanting seedlings to where she thought was best.

In addition to her parents, she is was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Neyman, sons James W. Neyman and Milton C. Neyman, Sr., grandson Luke Neyman, seven brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include her children, Jerry (Norma) Neyman of Quitman, May Ann (Chuck) Hughes of Montgomery, AL, and Linda Neyman of Meridian, MS, as well as her grandchildren:  Nancy Smith Gust, David Neyman, Delene Neyman Carter, Jason Neyman, Curtis Neyman, Jennifer Neyman, Jim Hughes, and Amy Hughes Argyle.  Additional survivors include 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Auster Lockhart of Birmingham, AL and Mary Lou Pounds of Leeds, AL, and brother Ulus Poore of Smith Lake, AL.

Pallbearers are Curtis Neyman, Jim Hughes, Chuck Hughes, Chris Argyle, Jason Neyman, and Jesse Carter. Honorary pallbearers include Bernice Lile, Kaye Broome, Alice Patterson, Magnolia Jones, Rhonda Allen, and the staff of Halcyon Hospice.
