Obituary

Louise Knight Malone Louise Knight Malone, 89 of Caledonia, MS passed away Friday, January 13, 2012. Visitation was Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 1 - 3 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, funeral service followed in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Woods officiating and Bro. Don Harding assisting, music by Chris Harding and Jim Fain. Interment was in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, directing. Mrs. Malone was born February 14, 1922, in Guin, AL to the late L.C. Knight and Nettie Mae Brown Knight. She moved from Guin, AL to Lowndes County in 1936. Mrs. Malone retired from Caledonia Manufacturing where she was employed as a seamstress. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, Caledonia, MS, VFW Auxiliary, Farm Bureau, Wildlife Forestry Association, 1st Armored Div. Aux. and the Wilson Creek Band. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Malone is preceded in death by her husband, Gurlie S. Malone, brothers, Doyle (Allie Ray) Knight, Watson (Faye) Knight, Roy Brown (Mary Frances) Knight, and nephews, David Malone and Russell Knight. Mrs. Malone is survived by her daughter – Patricia Jo Hudgins, Caledonia, MS; sister – Lanetta Aven, Caledonia, MS; grandchildren – Kyle (Jackie) Hudgins, Northport, AL, Amy (Gabe) Robinson, Caledonia, MS; great-grandchildren, Caleb Hudgins, Macy Hudgins, Ethan Robinson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Steve Hall, Brantly Clay, Tommy Vaughn, Danny Malone, Darrin Holliman, Bill Mixon, David Watkins, and Mark Aven. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cecil Robertson, Johnny Knight, Deacons of New Salem Baptist Church, Dr. Doyle Sumrall, Mack Egger, Bengy Jones, Wayne Blacklidge, Elzie Murphy, Larry Lawrence, Ted Lockhart, Mike Gambal, Mel Howton, Chris Harding, Walt Willis, Roy Lee Lindsey, Charlie Farrar, Bill Hudgins, Wayne Duncan, Alton Aven, Steve Hammack, Dr. Mark Shepherd, Dr. Bart Williams, Dr. Andrew Parent, and Dr. Brett Brown.
