Mrs. Loventres Bailey, 80 of Columbus, MS entered into her eternal rest on January 14, 2014 at Aurora Nursing Home. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 1-2 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Bailey was born April 19, 1933 in Macon, MS to the late Robert Lee and Gertrude Upton Basson, Sr. She was one of nine children. Mrs. Bailey married Edward Lee Bailey at the age of 15. Together they raised five children and helped to raise five grandchildren: Rebecca Bailey, Anita Wicks, Edward Morris, Christopher Barfield and Chad Barfield. Mrs. Bailey retired from Seminole Manufacturing after 32 years of dedicated service. She attended Murrah's Chapel Church as her health allowed. Mrs. Bailey loved visiting her siblings in Georgia and Oklahoma. She loved watching her hummingbirds and playing with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 children: son-Eddie Lee Bailey and daughter-Tammy Barfield, siblings: Robert Basson, Stevie Basson, Emma Johnson and Ozell Shelton. Mrs. Bailey is survived by children: Rita Brady, Brenda Landers and Danny Bailey; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren; siblings: Chestly Basson, James Basson, Charles Basson and Wesley Basson. Pallbearers will be Danny Bailey, Chestly Basson, Chris Barfield, Chad Barfield, Randy Basson and Chestly Brownlee. Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Legacy Hospice and Staff at Aurora Nursing Home.
