Lydia Leard West, 75 of Caledonia, MS passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 1:00 pm- 2:30 pm at Freeman Funeral Home, Waynesboro, MS. A private family graveside will follow at Waynesboro Cemetery, Waynesboro, MS. Mrs. West was born August 31, 1938 to the late Howard and Lillian Lucille Taylor Leard in Waynesboro, MS. She moved to Lowndes County 4 years ago from Wayne County, MS. Mrs. West was a member of First United Methodist Church and WMU, Waynesboro, MS; member of Daughters of American Revolution; Republican Women of Wayne Co., MS; volunteered many hours at Wayne County Public Library. Mrs. West loved to garden, was an avid reader and a world traveler. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband-Robert "Bob" T. West. Mrs. West is survived by her children-Randy (Roger Cole) Cole, Mobile, Al, Kelly (Jim) Cross, Caledonia, MS, Tracey (Lee) Cagle, Andalusia, Al and Michael Myrick, Red Level, Al; sister- Joy Stinson, Clara, MS; brother- Junior ( Faye) Leard, Bessemer, AL; grandchildren- Joshua Keenam, Zachary Keenam, Michael Myrick, Taylor Myrick, James Myrick, Chandler Cagle, Cristen Cagle, Lydia Cross, Ethan Cross and 4 great grandchildren.
