Obituary

Harold Mac Pace, 77, formerly of Columbus, MS passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019, at South Baldwin Medical Center in Foley, AL.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 16, 2019, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. Mr. Pace will lie-in-state one hour prior to his funeral service that will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 1:00 PM at East End Baptist Church in Columbus, MS with Bro. Larry Hill officiating and Bro. Byron Benson assisting. Interment will be at  Memorial Gardens in Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mr. Pace was born March 4, 1942, in Jackson, MS to the late Harold Lee and Nita Coleen McNair Pace. In 1955, his love for the music ministry began at the age of 13. Mr. Pace married the former Linda Baker on June 2, 1963, in Rosedale, MS. He served as the Minister of Music and Youth at First Baptist Church in Rosedale, MS from 1964-1971. Mr. Pace served as the pianist, organist, and youth choir director at Gunnison Baptist Church from 1972-1977. He moved to the Columbus area in 1978 and served 18 years as the Minister of Music and Education at Antioch Baptist Church. Most recently, Mr. Pace served as the Director of Senior Adult Ministry, Senior Adult Sonshine Singers and organist at East End Baptist Church in Columbus, MS for 22 years until November of 2018. While serving in various positions at church, he was also a sales associate in the men's department at Belk for over 17 years.

Mr. Pace is survived by his wife of 55 years- Linda Baker Pace of Foley, AL; son- David (Charity) Pace, Memphis, TN; daughters- Tara (Marty) Griffin of Foley, AL, Amy (John) Hanna of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren- Katie (Devan) Oliver, Eden Pace, Palmer Pace, Coleman Pace, Parker Pace, Ledger Daniel Pace, Lilly Kizziah Pace, Mary Linda Griffin, Micah Griffin, Kylee Grace Griffin, Jacob Hanna, Jessica Hanna, Alexis Hanna.

Pallbearers will be Billy Wade, Travis Berry, Ernie Smith, Jerry Wright, Terry Bouchard, Jimmy Hood, Charlie Veazey, Anthony Brewer.

Memorials may be made to the Ministries of East End Baptist Church, 380 MS-50, Columbus, MS 39705.
