Madguria "Madge" Barton, 95, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, August 04, 2016 at her residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Hurt and Bro. Steve Lammons officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Barton was born May 24, 1921, to the late Nora Aldridge and Darrell Bolin in Detroit, AL. She married her high school sweetheart, Lewis W. Barton in Jacksonville, FL on August 7, 1944. She attended Alverson Business College in Birmingham, AL and was a member of the National Beta Club. Her greatest joy was serving her Risen Savior since she was 11 years old. Mrs. Barton has been a Bible Counselor, Prayer Warrior, and Cub Scout Den mother. Being a military wife for 20 years and mother, she was very supportive through prayer and enjoyed reading poetry and hymns. Mrs. Barton was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband-Lewis Wilborne Barton; and son-Charles Edwin Barton.

Mrs. Barton is survived by her son-Steven W. Barton, Cameron, MT; daughter-in-law-Carol Atthowe Romero; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregivers-Carol Morgan and Mary Latham.

Pallbearers will be Truman Reeves, Greg Barton, Dale Brewer Harold Barton, and Eddie Barton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Deacons.
