Maggie Pearl Johnston, 80 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM with Bro. Steve Blaylock officiating. Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Johnston was born October 15, 1942, in Columbus, MS to the late Ester Juanita Foreman and Napolean "Poly" William Wright.  She worked at Pete's Restaurant as a waitress for many years.  Mrs. Johnston was a member of First Pentecostal Church, Columbus, MS.  She loved to play Bingo and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her daughter – Deborah Lynn Johnston; sister – Nancy Lee Coleman and brothers – Louis Edward Wright, William "Billy" Wright, and Leonard Allen Wright.

Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband – Richard Johnston, Sr.; son – Richard Franklin (Karen) Johnston, Jr., Robert (Lana) Murray Johnston; daughter – Cindy Lee Lynch, sister – Martha Ruth Harris; grandchildren – Stephan Wade Johnston, Samantha Michelle Barksdale, Katherine Elizabeth Mugica and Karigan Marie Bonner; great-grandchildren – Riley Kate Johnston, Kayden Barksdale, McKensey Barksdale, Landon Barksdale, and Madison Barksdale.
