Margaret Faye Cowart, 72 of Columbus, MS passed away, March 8, 2017, at Anderson Medical Regional Center, Meridian, MS.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2017, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM  in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Cowart was born May 12, 1944, to the late Burman and Adelle Perrigan Oglesby in Pickens County, AL and lived in the Columbus area her entire life.  She was a homemaker and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Carrollton, AL.  Mrs. Cowart attended First Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, she loved working in the yard, cooking and working crossword puzzles.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husband – Edward "Sonny" Cowart, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Mrs. Cowart is survived by her son – Vern (Menissia) Cowart, Caledonia, MS; sisters – Minnie (Cois) Aldridge, Kennedy, AL and Betty Ann (Mearl) Sims, Columbus, MS; brothers – Leon (Pat) Oglesby, Carrollton, AL, Willie Hill (Irene) Oglesby and Ralton Oglesby; grandchildren – Chad Cowart and Madeline Cowart; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Cowart, Mark Baldwin, Michael Oglesby, Wayne Parker, Jeffrey Oglesby and Chad Jaggers; honorary pallbearers will be Lucille Levi, Betty Holley and the Staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle and Anderson Regional Medical Center.
