Margaret Smith, 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel.

Margaret was born on June 11, 1943, to the late Cora Trotter Henry and Clyde Henry, in Indiana.  She was a member of the Refuge Church, and volunteered at North Mississippi Medical Center, both in West Point, MS.  Traveling with her children and grandchildren was a special time for her.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Windsor Place, in Columbus, MS, for their love and support.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her daughters, Deanna Simmons, and Melinda Matherne; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Bowling; and her sister, Phyllis Roseberry.

She is survived by a son – Mike Bowling; son-in-law – Curtis (Sherry) Simmons; grandchildren – Jacob Simmons, Ashley (Chris Irvin) Wooten, Leah Moore, Misty Matherne, April Williams, Michael Bowling, Jr, Don Barker, Coty Barker; and great-grandchildren – Bradie Wooten, Charlie Wooten, Carmen Williams, Keyan Williams, Makenzie Bowling, Lyndsey Bowling, Colton Barker, Sophia Barker, Caydon Barker, and Jersey Barker.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and her friends from Wal-Mart.
