Margaret R. Wood Margaret R. Wood, 70 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 from 10 AM – 11 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Ray officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS; Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Wood was born February 19, 1941 in Columbus, MS to the late George David and Nora Gertrude Langford Ray. She was a lifetime resident of Columbus, MS and a member of McBee Baptist Church, Columbus, Ms. Mrs. Wood retired in 1997 from Morrison's/ Piccadilly Cafeteria as secretary and cashier with 23 years of service. She enjoyed reading and visiting with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Wood; son, Rusty Wood; daughter, Lee Ann Wood; brothers, George David Ray, Jr., Floyd Thomas Ray, James Perry Ray, Charlie Buck Ray, William Douglas Ray, Donald Allen Ray and sister, Mary Arlene Berridge. Mrs. Wood is survived by her son, Roger Dale Hineline; daughter, Rhonda Wood; sisters, Edna Katherine (Bobby) Holliman, Columbus, MS; Virginia Lee (Lindsay) Homan, Millport, AL; brothers, Jimmy (Shirley) Ray, Ethelsville, AL and Robert Edward Ray, Florida. Pallbearers will be Larry Holliman, Doug Ray, James David Ray, Robert Allen Ray, Eddie Barton, Dale Thompson and Ray Homan.
