Marie Jeanette Hill, 82, of Columbus, MS, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating and Bro. Tommy Gillon and Bro. Breck Ladd assisting. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, directing.

Jeanette was born September 20, 1935, in Winston County, MS, to the late William Vester and Eula Josephine Keen Ward. She worked as an assembly line worker at United Technologies for many years. Jeanette married Roland Hill on February 19, 1956, in Louisville, MS. She was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, for over 40 years and was a current member of the Ladies Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of almost 62 years-- Roland Hill; son-- Dr. Douglas (Gwen) Hill of Tupelo, MS; daughters-- Terri Davis (Greg Beach) of Columbus, MS, Sherri (James) Watters of Auburn, MA; grandchildren-- Kyle (Kayla) Coleman, Andrew Hill, Preston Davis, Alex (Madison) Hill, Will Watters, Anna Watters; great-grandchildren-- Jace Gillian, Braylee Brown, Addisyn Coleman, Briley Hill; and brother-- Udell Ward of Louisville, MS.

Gifted with a servant's heart, Jeanette was a strong woman of great faith. She was a shining example of a Godly woman whose faith never faltered even as the cancer took over her earthly body but never her faithful spirit. She was an amazing prayer warrior for her family and anyone who came into her life. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, Nannie, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. With all her heart, she loved and adored her husband, Roland, of almost 62 years who also adored her and took wonderful loving care of her until she went to be with the Lord. She unconditionally loved and treasured her three children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, nieces, extended family, friends, and caregivers.

As a truly awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind Godly lady, Jeanette will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She would not want us to mourn her death but celebrate her sweet, kind, loving soul being received into Heaven and given eternal life and a new body by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We love you and miss you so much Jeanette, Mother, Nannie, and Aunt Net! We know you are watching over us always as our special angel.

Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons and great-grandson, Kyle Coleman, Andrew Hill, Preston Davis, Alex Hill, Will Watters, and Jace Gillian. Honorary Pallbearers will be Emanuel Betros, Mike Whitten, Kenny Ogelsby, Ralph Blackstock, Arthur Halfacre, Butch Hill, Clayton James, Danny Ward, Donald McMinn, Joe Ward, J.B. Cox, Bobby Ward, Bill Turnage and her Ladies Friendship Sunday School Class from Fairview Baptist Church.
