Beloved mother, grandmother, US Veteran Marie Dorothy Malone, 87, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, in Columbus, MS. Marie was born on September 14, 1933, to Lester and Lucile Farley (Allen) in Baileyton, AL, the eldest of three girls. She graduated from Emma Samson High School in 1952.

Marie proudly served in the Air Force as a teletype operator in Wyoming and the Pentagon. Marie returned to Columbus, MS in 1969 as a Computer Specialist at Columbus Air Force Base. During her career, she received many awards to include multiple Federal Woman of the Year for her outstanding performance. Marie retired in 1992 to enjoy life on Tibbe Creek with her beloved Ivan Lewis. Marie was an avid gardener, cook, and life member of Beta Sigma Phi Torchbearer Alpha sorority.

Marie is survived by her daughter- Janet (Patrick) Riordan of Columbus, MS; son-in-law- John Pryor of Lebanon, PA; grandchildren- Joshua Lamb, Loran Pryor Daniels, Ryan Riordan, Corie Pryor, Sean Riordan; and sister- Charlsie Smith of Gadsden, AL. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Loran (Pat); daughters- Lori Malone and Giner Pryor, beloved Ivan Lewis, and sister- Eleanor Cheeves.

The family will greet friends at a Celebration of Marie's Life at a later time in 2021 when it is safe to gather. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice of Tupelo or Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation (Breast Cancer Research).
