Marjorie Dou Swedenburg, 88, of Crawford, MS passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo, MS.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 9:00 – 10:30 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard, Columbus, MS. A memorial service will follow on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Sandra DePriest officiating.

Mrs. Swedenburg was born August 6, 1929, in Galveston, TX to the late Estelle Ray Mullens and the late Floyd T. Mullens, former owner of Moons BBQ. She was a 1947 graduate of Lee High School. Mrs. Swedenburg made braille Bibles, she helped start Loaves and Fishes, and she volunteered at the hospital for over 30 years. Mrs. Swedenburg was in several Garden Clubs and Holiday Clubs. She was also involved with Meals on Wheels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson- Zach Swedenburg.

Mrs. Swedenburg is survived by her husband of 70 years- Winford Swedenburg of Crawford, MS; daughter- Shelly (Rusty) Russell of Crawford, MS; son- David Swedenburg of Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Shannon Dismukes, and Windy (James) Dunnum; great-grandchildren- Katelyn Russell, Tyler Boltwood, Tristin Dismukes, Damien Sansing, Aubry Sansing, and Bella Sansing; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
