Marshal Coker Carson, Jr., age 87, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, August 20, 2018, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at 2:30 PM at New Hope United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS with Rev. Sarah Windham officiating.
Mr. Carson was born on December 31, 1930, in Fyffe, AL to the late Marshal Coker Carson, Sr. and Helen Fancher Carson. He had a masters degree in Divinity, Communications, and Electrical Engineering. Mr. Carson worked as a High School Chaplin for many years. He also helped at the Red Cross, was a radio engineer and was a Methodist Minister for 40 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother- Horace "Sunset" Watson Carson.
Mr. Carson is survived by his wife- Hattie Sue Hutto Carson of Columbus, MS; daughters- Belinda Jayne Wagenseller, and Helen Melissa Stockman; son- Marshal "Butch" Coker Carson, III of Columbus, MS; 7 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a local Humane Society of donor's choice.
