Martha Elizabeth Rye, 89, of Caledonia, MS, passed away on February 29, 2024, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Service will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with Eddie Finch officiating. Interment will follow at Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, directing.

Mrs. Rye was born on September 16, 1934, in Calhoun City, MS to the late Minyard Davidson and Myrl Burt Davidson. Mrs. Rye was a Librarian at Caledonia Elementary School for around 22 years. She was a member of Vernon Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rye is preceded in death by her husband- Jesse Rye.

Mrs. Rye is survived by her daughters- Donna (Steve) Volz, Martha (WV) Hutcheson, and Kathy (Eddie) Finch; son- John Rye, step daughter- Susan (David) Meador; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be – Steve Volz, Christian Volz, John Rye, Jess Hutcheson, Josh Keeton, and Michael Dorough.
