Marvin "Bill" Gay Atkins, 97, of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, August 28, 2020, at Trinity Place Personal Care, Columbus, MS.

A graveside service will be Monday, August 31, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Atkins was born September 24, 1922, in Kennedy, AL to the late Tennie Long Atkins and Marion Atkins. He enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Atkins is preceded in death by his daugther- Sheila Terrell; son- Terry Atkins; brothers- Cortez Atkins, Lee Ottis Atkins, Jack Atkins, and Jay Atkins; and sister- Trannie Atkins.

Mr. Atkins is survived by his wife- Doris E Gavin Atkins; sons- Ronnie (Jan) Atkins, Gary (Debi) Atkins, and Steve Atkins all of Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Brad (Melissa) Atkins, Brent (Heather) Atkins, Beau Atkins, Lacy Atkins, Addie (Daniel ) Talley, Anna Atkins, Kelly Brigham; 11 great-grandchildren, son-in-law- Clay Terrell; and daugther-in-law- Bunny Atkins.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Atkins, Gary Atkins, Brad Atkins, Brent Atkins, Beau Atkins, and Daniel Talley. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Atkins, Clay Terrell, and Jack Atkins.
