Mary Catherine Atkins, age 84, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at her residence.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS in memory of Mary Catherine and John Wayne Atkins. Father Jeffrey Waldrip will be officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Atkins was born on August 5, 1933, in Memphis, TN to the late Eugene and Alma Hathcock Carrigan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- John Wayne Atkins and her don- David Bustos.

Mrs. Atkins is survived by her daughters- Shawn (James) Faircloth of Belleview, FL, Becky (Steve) Kesler of Brooksville, MS, and Sherri (Chuck) Leonard of West Point, MS; grandchildren- Jessie (Jimmy) Burton, Jordan Junkin, Adam Burgess, and Zachary Biggs; and her 5 great-grandchildren.
