Mary Bennett Gann, 74 of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at her residence. Visitation will be Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 2 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Al Hamm officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Gann was born January 26, 1939 in Lowndes County to the late Bryce and Willie Harrison Hudson. She was a member of Victory Freewill Baptist Church and she worked for Microtek Medical for 30 years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband-James Bennett; brothers- Herschal and Coy Hudson. Mrs. Gann is survived by her husband-Cecil Gann, Columbus, MS; daughter-Janice (Rodney) Sullivan, Columbus, MS; son-Dennis (Angie) Bennett, Calhoun City, MS; step-daughters-Faye (Lee) Henley, Columbus, MS, Peggy Gilbert and Betty Falls both of Tuscaloosa, AL; Step-son- Roy (Angie) Gann, Jerome (Sarah) Gann, James (Melany)Gann, Donald Gann, and David Gann all of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren-Heather Sullivan, Haley Bennett, Kimberly Bennett; 20 step grandchildren and 28 step great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mike Elliot, Brandon Elliot, Jeff Stephens, Tyler Kilgore, Keith Moore and Drake Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Haskell Robbins, Bo Jones and Members of Victory Freewill Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
