Mary J. "Jackie" Vickers Mary J. "Jackie" Vickers, 76 of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 at her residence. Visitation was held Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 1 – 2:30 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services were held Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 2:30 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Crawford, officiating and Bro. Mickey Dalrymple, assisting. Interment was in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS; Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Vickers was born April 20, 1934 in Clay County, MS to the late Dola Mae Edwards and Jack Smith. She was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past 46 years having moved from West Point, MS. Mrs. Vickers was retired after 10 years as a childcare provider at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and their 55+ group. She also enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband - Dewitte Vickers Mrs. Vickers is survived by her sons – Mike (Sandy) Vickers, Douglasville, GA; Mark (Resa) Vickers, West Point, MS; Lee (Tanya) Vickers, Columbus, MS; sister – Barbara Adams, West Point, MS; nine grandchildren – Mandy Kirby, Micah Vickers, Alicia Vickers, Amber Vickers, Elena Vickers, Brooke Vickers, Kyle Kirby, Caleb Kirby and Draven MacDonald. Pallbearers were Craig Barfield, Stan Rector, Jerry Riley, Don Davis, Bobby Ward, Jerry Hunt, Jerry Lavender and Bob Crigler.
