Mary Elaine Mulligan Mary Elaine Pounders Mulligan, 78 of Columbus, MS passed away, Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Mulligan will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Coleman, officiating and Bro. Ellis Tate assisting. Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery, Millport, AL. Lowndes Funeral Home, directing. Mrs. Mulligan was born November 16, 1932 to the late John Gilbert & Eula Mae Holliman Pounders in Hamilton, MS. She worked as a nurses aid at Golden Triangle Regional Hospital, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Mulligan was a very active member of Murrah's Chapel Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. She loved her flowers and loved to cook. In addition to her parents Mrs. Mulligan is preceded in death by her husband – Harry C. Mulligan, Brother - E.G. Pounders, Jr., and Sister - Erlene Pounders Brougher. Mrs. Mulligan is survived by her Son - Tony C. (Natalie) Mulligan, Columbus, MS, Daughter - Sandra (Rocky) McClung - Greenwood, IN, Sister - Joyce Pounders Folds - Greenwood, IN, Sister-in-law - Betty Pounders - Columbus, MS, Brother-in-law - Jeff Brougher - Indianapolis, IN, Grandchildren - Brandye Mulligan, Katie Hudson & Casey B. Mulligan and Great-grandchildren - Merrick & Tristan. Pallbearers will be Jim Bell, Tracy Wright, Bobby Bolton, Kenny Hunt, Shane Tubbs, Todd Folds, & Caleb Pounders. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Vineyard Court, Dr. John Whitecar, Dr. James S. Woodard and Dr. Brad Brown.
