Mary Norris Mary John Norris, 73 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at her residence. A memorial service was held Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 2 PM at Living Faith Tabernacle Church, Columbus, MS with Rev. Herbert McCoy officiating, Bro. James Gardner and Bro. Philip White assisting. Mrs. Norris was born June 14, 1937 in Okolona, MS to the late Joe A. and Eunice Cook DeMoville. She loved going to church, giving toys to children, sewing, fishing, playing the piano, singing and reading. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching The Young and the Restless and CSI. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Norris is preceded in death by her son – James West and sister – Daisey Hooker. Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband – Melvin Norris; daughters – Barbara Belhumeur, Phoenix, AZ, Libby (James) Strickland, Columbus, MS, Melissa (Eddie) Holiday, Columbus, MS, Kuydgalyn (Mario) Martinez, Columbus, MS and Jo-Ann West, NY; son – Larry West, Hattiesburg, MS; sisters – Diana (Robert) Pruitte, FL and Suzanne (John) Thomas, Columbus, MS; brother – Edward (Cindy) DeMoville, Columbus, MS; grandchildren – Mike Abels, Jenniffer Strickland, Holly Strickland, Scott McClusky, Allen West, Kathy Belhumeur, Brooks Belhumeur and Shelly West; and great grandchildren – James M. McClusky, Nikkie McClusky and Shawn Belhumeur. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the donor's choice.
