Mary Hopper Smith
Mary Hopper Smith, 52 of Vernon, AL passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 2 PM at Lampkin Cemetery, Lamar Co., AL with Dr. Walt Porter officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.
Mrs. Smith was born February 21, 1958 in Vernon, AL to the late James ?Doots? and Liffie Harper Hopper and was a lifetime resident of Vernon, AL, a graduate of MUW and a homemaker. Mrs. Smith loved animals, especially her cats and her beloved Jack Russell Terrier ?Daisy Junebug.? She loved reading, music and was a choir director and piano instructor. Mrs. Smith was a member of Schaffer?s Chapel United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Lawanda Janice Hopper Adams.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Sammy Smith, Vernon, AL and aunt, Juanita Patrick, Ethelsville, AL.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Manley Harper, Tol Hayes, Eddie McNees, Dr. Stidham and Dr. Long.
