Mary Antoinette Strait, 90 of Columbus, MS passed away, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. A graveside service will be Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Forest Cemetery, Ethelsville, AL with Mike Yost officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Strait was born September 23, 1923 to the late Robert Mahlon and Tennie Younger Storey in Gattman, MS. She was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS where she was very active with the youth program. Mrs. Strait retired after 17 years from Columbus Public Schools as an assistant teacher. She enjoyed sewing and enjoyed doing alterations for others. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Strait was preceded in death by her husband Royal "Roy" Strait. Mrs. Strait is survived by her sons - Leslie David (Shirley) Strait, Brooksville, MS and Mahlon Lynn Strait, Thomasville, GA, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Strait, Paul Strait, Micheal Strait, Chad Koehn, Jeffrey Johnson and Vincent Yost. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
