Matthew Robert Slancauskas, 43, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, November 14, 2022, at his home.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, with Rev. Sarah Windham officiating.

Mr. Slancauskas was born on September 27, 1979, in Ft. Knox, KY to JoAnne Carpenter and the late Edward Slancauskas. Matt was an avid outdoorsman.  He loved to hunt, fish, and ride 4-wheelers with his daughters.  He LOVED Alabama football and all the Pittsburgh teams:  the Steelers, the Penguins, and the Pirates.  His family was the most important thing to him.  He was very proud of his Lithuanian and Polish heritage.  He had a group of guys that he had been friends with since childhood and they meant the world to him.  He loved his daughters and was so proud to be their father.  He loved to make people laugh and had the most outrageous sense of humor!

He is survived by his wife Sonja Ingle Slancauskas; daughters – Ava and Emmy Slancauskas; mother – JoAnne Carpenter; brother – Mark Largent; and sister – Becky Hix.
