Maudine Odom Atkins, 91 of Millport, AL passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Pickens County Medical Center, Carrollton, AL. Visitation will be Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 11 - 1 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 1 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Matthew Fancher officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery, Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Atkins was born September 10, 1923 in Millport, AL to the late Charles D. and Finis Mouchette Odom. She was a lifetime resident of Lamar County and she attended Springhill Baptist Church. Mrs. Atkins worked at Seminole Manufacturing for 31 years as a seamstress. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband-Dwight S. Atkins, Sr., daughters- Sarah Atkins and Winna Whitten, son in law-Mike Cash and daughter in law-Nelda Atkins. Mrs. Atkins is survived by sons-Dwight Atkins, Jr. and John L. Atkins both of Millport, AL, Charles E. Atkins and Luther W. (Lorraine) Atkins both of Columbus, MS and a daughter-Nancy Cash, Columbus, MS; sister-Bobbie Allen, Opelika, AL; grandchildren-Toby Atkins, Terry Atkins, Torrie Braley, Drew Cash, Jody Reynolds, Tabitha Edwards, Byron Whitten, Holley Whitten, Alisa Whitten, Danny Cash, Jimmy Cash, Raynette DeVilla and Ray DeVilla and 17 great-granchildren. Pallbearers will be Toby Atkins, Terry Atkins, Byron Whitten, Earl Shaw, Terry Fields, Gary Beard and Larry Robertson.
