Mavery Elam, age 94, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, at her residence in Nashville, TN.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Springhill Cemetery, Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Elam was born on June 5, 1924, in Millport, AL, to the late E.W. and Mary Elizabeth Burks Byars. She will be missed by her family and loved ones. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elam was preceded in death by her Husband- Joseph Hugh Elam; brother- Eddie Byars; and sister- Peggy Lamar.

Mrs. Elam is survived by her daughters- Becky (Ronnie) Bell of Ethelsville, AL, and Peggy (Jeff Berry) Elam of Nashville, TN; grandchildren- Brian (Jennifer) Bell, and Jonathan (Lindsay) Bell; and great-grandchildren- Baker Bell, and Barrett Bell.
