Melba Elaine Hendrickson Tomlinson, 80 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Windsor Place, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Monday, September 29, 2014 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Graveside service will be Monday, September 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Bro. Charlie Whitney officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Tomlinson was born March 28, 1934 to the late Ernest and Oveda Covington Johnson Hendrickson in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and moved to Columbus 38 years ago from Valdosta, GA. She retired from United Technologies in 1997 after 15 years of service. Mrs. Tomlinson loved antiques, going to auctions and caring for her plants. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Tomlinson was cared for by her constant loving and very special companion, Bill Boone prior to and during her stay at Windsor Place. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tomlinson was preceded in death by her son - Scott Brooks and grandson - Calem Tomlinson. Mrs. Tomlinson is survived by her daughters - Amy Robertson, Columbus, MS, Dawn Conn, Columbus, MS, Lisa Lowery, Reform, AL, son - Marc Tomlinson, Columbus, MS, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
