Melonie Lynn Underwood, 50, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2020, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Life Church at 3:00 PM with Josiah Andrews officiating. Interment will be in Rowan Cemetery, Steens, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Underwood was born April 17, 1969, in Vernon, AL to Clester Woolbright and the late Katherine Ann Tuggle. She was a member of Life Church. Mrs. Underwood married the love of her life Charles Ronald Underwood, on April 5, 1986, in Columbus, MS. She was a nanny for several years and loved all the children she kept. Mrs. Underwood was a member of Columbus Carpenters for Christ, and Life Groups. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Underwood is preceded in death by her brother in law- Anthony Underwood; nephews- Dustin Yaw and Michael Woolbright; and an infant grandchild.

Mrs. Underwood is survived by her husband of 33 years- Charles Ronald Underwood of Columbus, MS; daughters- Brandy Sanders of Columbus, MS, and Claudia Underwood; son- Benjamin Sims; father- Clester (Pam) Woolbright; adopted mother- Claudia (Larry) Keating; grandchildren- Eliza Guerra, Rylee Guerra, Kaleb Silas, Brooklyn Irvin, and Kailee Underwood; mother in law- Virgie McDill; brothers- Wayne (Tammy) Woolbright; Larry Keating, David Keating, Ronnie Jo Keating, Billy Michael Keating, and James (Kim) Woolbright; sisters- Martha (Tammy) Woolbright and Hazel (James) Montgomery and a nannie to- Sawyer Ann, Scarlett Renea, Russell Quade, Larry Wayne, Little Robert, Elichia Cole, Brailyn Humbers, Myra Jean and Eli Richey.

Pallbearers will be Larry Keating, James Kevin, Curtis Dale, Josiah Andrews, Hunter Goins, and Timmy Sudduth. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Woolbright, Darin Haynes, Jr., and Benjamin Sims.
