Michael Alan Clay, 46, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 in Seagrove Beach, Florida. Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Bro. Grant Mitchell officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Clay was born July 29, 1967 in Columbus, MS to Peggy Pittman Clay and the late Charles Dewitt Clay. He was an avid deer hunter and sportsman. Mr. Clay loved to cook, especially barbeque cook outs, and was a great cook. He loved his job and was a lifelong resident of Lowndes County, where he graduated from Caldwell High School in 1985. Mr. Clay had a big heart, never met a stranger, and was loved by everyone. Mr. Clay is survived by his wife - Stephanie Cullinan Clay, Columbus, MS; brother - Ricky (Ronda) Clay, Hamilton, MS; sister - Cindy (Diego J. Velasco) Clay, Columbus, MS; niece - Robyn (Justin) Evans; nephews - Richard Clay and Patrick Doane; uncle - Bobby (Connie) Clay; and beloved dogs - Shocky and Abby. Pallbearers will be Jake Wesley, Scott Wesley, Bryan Zimmer, Derwin Summerville, Robby Rickard, Heath Hickman, Richard Brown, Chris Lytle, Mike Prestridge and George Burchfield.
