Michael "Mickey" Frank Earwood. 68, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, December, 1, 2015 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster, AL.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 4, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Ray officiating and Bro. Danny Burks assisting. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Earwood was born April 10, 1947 to the late Starling Earwood and Ervena Earwood in Birmingham, AL. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and he was a member of McBee Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. On April 12, 1997, Mr. Earwood married the former Gwendolyn Higdon. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Earwood have hosted numerous exchange students from abroad for many years. Mr. Earwood enjoyed motorcycles, racing, and he was a huge Alabama football fan. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-Charles Earwood.
Mr. Earwood is survived by his wife-Gwen Higdon Earwood, Columbus, MS; daughter-Stacey (Jay) Holland, Chelsea, AL; son-Michael Earwood, Greenville, MS; grandchildren-Corbin Holland, Keegan Holland, Mason Holland, and Sophie Holland; brothers-Dale (Shirley) Earwood, Mitch (Deb) Earwood, and David (Ann) Earwood; sister-Loretta Earwood; father-in-law-Shay Higdon; mother-in-law-Jane Higdon; sister-in-law-Pam (Paul) Lockhart; brother-in-law-Shan (Debi) Higdon; niece Shana (Chris) Maxey; grandnieces- Shaelee Maxey and Brylee Jo; great nephew-Ryker Maxey; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Faulkner, Alice Gable, Billy Scarbrough, Russell Snapp, Stan Bateman, Gary Collins, Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, and Eddie Rickman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Guy Villinue, Jerry Wray, Bubba Comer, Dr. John Stanback, Skip Henderson, Mark Killebrew, Former Employees of Besco, Employees of Village Cycle Center, Mark Stokes, Johnny Stokes, Rickman Racing Crew, and Bronson Miller; and a multitude of people whose lives Mickey touched.
