Michael "Mike" Ernest Murphy, 78 of Caledonia, MS, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at MS State Veteran's Home in Kosciusko, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS, with Bro. Mike Smith and Bro. James Black officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Cemetery in Steens, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Murphy was born on October 17, 1946, in St. Joseph, MO, to the late Marilynn L.  Wineland Murphy and Ernest Murphy. He was a member of Border Springs Baptist Church in Caledonia, MS. Mr. Murphy retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant in 1986. He was an avid collector and loved going to auctions and looking for antiques. In addition to his parents, Mr. Murphy is preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Rambo, and mother-in-law, Betty Gallop Rambo.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Sandra J. Rambo Murphy; son, James Michael Murphy; brother, Patrick (Debby) Murphy; sisters, Terri (Mike) Collmar, and Kathy Parenti; and sister-in-law, Alice (Johnny) Cunningham.

Pallbearers will be Steve Butler, Tyler Brock, Anthony Harrell, Douglas Reeves, Benjy Jones, and Lee Cunningham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Delay Beckwith, Larry Colson, David McRae, Audron Waldon, Russell Reeves.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at MS State Veteran's Home in Kosciusko, MS for all their help taking care of Mike. The family would also like to send a special thank you to all their family, friends, and church family- Border Springs Baptist Church, Flint Hill Baptist Church and Flint Hill Methodist Church in Caledonia, MS for all their of love and thoughtfulness during this time.
