Obituary

Michael Reynolds Law, Sr., 71, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 12:00 PM with Matt Law officiating.

Mr. Law was born July 24, 1948, in Jacksonville, FL to the late Reynolds Law and Elizabeth Jean Zobel. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Political Science. Mr. Law served in the Navy where he got drafted to Vietnam where he taught English. He went on to work for J.C. Penney Company for 43 years. Mr. Law spent time doing work in his community with the Roast & Boast that raised money for St. Judes Research Hospital, something he was very passionate about.  He played golf, enjoyed cooking, was an avid reader and loved spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Law is survived by his sons- Michael (Connie) Law, Jr. of Ball Ground, GA and Matthew (Jennifer) Law of Phenix City, AL; daughters- Christi(Sean) Courtney of Charlotte, NC and Kasey Adams of Columbus, MS; brothers- Mark Law of Ocala, FL, and Rick (Jill) Zobel of Rutledge, TN; sisters- Renee(Lyndon) Smith of Temple, GA and Bonnie Zobel of St. Petersburg, FL; step-father- Herb Zobel of Wellborn, FL; Step-children- Michael (Brittany) Lemus of Nashville, TN, and Erika (Adam) Bodine of Birmingham, AL; 13 grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers- Shirley Salter and Conni Law.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks to make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
