Michael Leslie Nowland, 56, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, February 1, 2016, at his residence.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS. Following the service, a barbeque will be held at Stan Mathis's House. Everyone is invited to attend.

Mr. Nowland was born October 12, 1959, to the late Ernest Lavertte and Doris May Larose Nowland in Talladega, AL. He married the former Dona Mathis on December 29, 1987, in Round Rock, TX. Mr. Nowland has lived in the area for about 46 years, where he was a truck driver. He is preceded in death by Mona Nowland Mathis.

Mr. Nowland is survived by his wife of 28 years-Dona Mathis Nowland, Columbus, MS; daughter-Danielle Leslie Nowland, Columbus, MS; brother-Ernie Nowland, Columbus, MS;  sister-Debbie (Ron) Godney ; and 13 nieces and nephews.
