Mickey Dalrymple, 71 of Brandon, MS passed away, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 after a 20 month battle with T-cell leukemia. Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A memorial service will be Saturday, at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS at 10:00 AM with Bro. Sammy Crawford. Bro. Clarence Cooper and Bro. Breck Ladd officiating. Interment will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence, AL at 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 10, 2015 with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. He was a native of Geraldine, Alabama where he graduated from Geraldine High School. He earned an Associates of Arts from Snead Junior College, Boaz, AL; a Bachelor of Arts from Athens, AL; and a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. He worked as a quality control lab technician for Monsanto Chemicals, Decatur, AL until called to the ministry. He was licensed and ordained by First Baptist Church, Decatur, AL. He served First Baptist, Decatur, AL as an Associate to the Pastor from 1971 - 1975. He then served as pastor of Moulton Baptist Church, Moulton, AL from 1975 - 1984. His last pastorate was the Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS where he served for 27 years from 1984 - 2011. Since his retirement from the pastorate in 2011 he preached many revivals and spoke at banquets and conferences. He is preceded in death by his parents - Carl Horace Dalrymple and Flossie Traylor Dalrymple; brothers - Lamar Dalrymple, Rhoal and Tean Dalrymple; sister - Donna Dalrymple Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 45 years - Carol Tedder Dalrymple; son - Timothy Clint (Veronica) Dalrymple, Brandon, MS; daughter - Julie Dalrymple, Columbus, MS; grandchildren - Stone Nathaniel Dalrymple and Makenzie Lynn Dalrymple, Brandon, MS. In Seminary, Bro. Mickey served as Chairman of Student Missions Committee (1975) and a member of the Student Government Senate (1975). Bro. Mickey served on the Southern Baptist Convention as representative of the Alabama Baptist convention on the Committee on Boards (1982) and as a representative of the Mississippi Baptist Convention. He served on the Missions Board of the Alabama Baptist Convention and also on the Convention Board of the Mississippi Baptist Convention. Bro. Mickey served the Mississippi Baptist Convention as a member of the Time, Place and Preacher Committee (1999), Mississippi Baptist Convention Board, Mississippi Baptist Executive Committee and Order of Business Committee (1991 - 1994). He also served two terms as President of the Mississippi Baptist Convention (2008 - 2009). Bro. Mickey preached at the State Evangelism Conference (1989 and 1995), Mississippi Baptist Pastor's Conference (1989, Convention Sermon (2005) and President's Address (2008, 2009). He preached revivals, taught conferences and spoke at banquets in 38 states and 4 foreign countries. Honorary pallbearers will be present and past staff members who served with Bro. Mickey at Fairview Baptist Church and Moulton Baptist Church, Moulton, AL.
