Mike Grant, 71, of Columbus, MS, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, at his residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 12:00 PM -2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS, with Bro. Grant Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS.

Mr. Grant was born June 11, 1951, in Columbus, MS to the late Louise Horst Grant and Hoyle Grant.  He was a member of Kolola Springs Baptist Church, Caledonia, MS. Mr. Grant was a foreman for Bacco Materials for 25 years. He was a member of Lowndes County District 2 Fire Department for 34 years serving as Board Member and President, Member of the Sons Confederate Veterans, Masonic Caledonia Lodge, and the Lowndes County Cattleman's Association. Mr. Grant enjoyed going to National Wild Turkey Federation Banquets and Ducks Unlimited Banquets, being a hay field supervisor for his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Grant is preceded in death by his sisters- Myra Schamel and Dot Griffin.

Mr. Grant is survived by his wife- Shirley Wooten Grant; Mother to his children- Delannis Bishop; sons- Eric (Amanda) Grant, Andy (Candy) Grant, Alex (Amy) Grant, and Shaun (Anne) Murphy; daughter- Erin (Haig) Butler; grandchildren- Katie (Josh) Baty, Bailey (Jake) Halverson, Brayden Grant, Cullen Grant, Blakeney Butler, Emma Grace (Drake) Shaw, Jackson Butler, and Marshal (Faith) Tomlinson; great-grandchildren- Coralaine Baty, Lillian Baty, Anderson Baty, Lillie Scout, Eleanor Scout; sister- Edith Jordan.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Griffin, Phillip DiCicco, Ben Hardin, Cecil Cutrer, Rodney Graves, Jerry Pounders, Johnny Kelly, Bro. Don Harding, Dr. Jeffrey Britt, Craig, Greg and Heath Butler, Bruce Landrum, Dale Reese, Members of Lowndes Co. District 2 Fire Department, Members of the Son of Confederate Veterans Camp 2140.
