William Michael "Mike" Jackson, 71, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- GT in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2017, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Monday, February 27, 2017, at 1:00 PM with Bro. Tommy Gillon officiating and Bro. Ben Yarber assisting. Graveside service will follow at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mr. Jackson was born October 3, 1945, in Aberdeen, MS to the late William R. and Josephine V. Vines Jackson. He graduated from Aberdeen High School was employed with the City of Aberdeen Water Department for 22 years.  Mr. Jackson moved to Columbus, MS 36 years ago.  Mr. Jackson was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and was a member of Bob Crigler's Sunday School Class.  He was active in Promise Keepers and loved gospel singings and served as a deacon.  Mr. Jackson also loved trains.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife- Carol Andrews Jackson of Columbus, MS; brother – Dr. J. Steve (Peggy) Jackson, Richland, MS, nieces Christy (Jason) Lewis, Brandon, MS and Mandy Jackson; great-nieces and nephews – Abby Grace and Jackson Chandler Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Steve Andrews, Roy Gene Fisher, Chuck Norris, Lee Shackleford, Bob Crigler, Charles Patrick and Jason Lewis.
