Michael Allen O'Bryant, Sr., 69, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 01, 2020, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home. A funeral service with military honors will be Thursday, January 02, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. David Coleman officiating. Private interment services will be held at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS.

Mr. O'Bryant was born September 05, 1950, in Indiana, to the late Aileen Dorothy and Clarence O'Bryant, Sr. He served his country proudly while enlisted in the United States Army. During his Army career he held many different positions, working as a welder and Platoon Sergeant, he ended his military career as an (E7) Sergeant First Class. He was able to retire as a Station Commander after serving many years as a recruiter. A lifetime member of the VFW and local American Legion Post #69, Mr. O'Bryant was very proud of his military career. A Christian by faith, he attended Murrah's Chapel Baptist Church. Well-liked and a friend to all who knew him, he was a devoted and hard-working family man, he enjoyed carpentry projects, gardening, fishing and being able to Bar-Be-Que, and spending time with his dog "Jake". In addition to his parents, Mr. O'Bryant is preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph and "Bud" O'Bryant, and one brother-in-law Buenchoy Srikasem.

Mr. O'Bryant is survived by his loving wife, of 50 years, Prapai O'Bryant; two children: Patty (James) Horton of Caledonia and Mike (Tonya) O'Bryant of Columbus; and five grandchildren: Melanie O'Bryant, Justin O'Bryant, Jessie Horton, Ashley Horton and Sarah Horton; and his dog "Jake."
