Mildred Lucille Austin, 89, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.

A family graveside service will be held Friday, August 21, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Gardens with Bro. Ron Delgado officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Austin was born December 9, 1930, in Talledega, AL to the late Nellie Wesley Newsome and Thomas E. Newsome. She worked at Austin Williams Florist for many years. Mrs. Austin attended House of Restoration, Vibrant, and Assembly Church. She enjoyed taking care of others, as was a member of Eastern Star and Friendly City Garden Club. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Austin is preceded in death by her husband- Howell Austin, and two sisters- Linda Maddox, and Jean Hayes.

Mrs. Austin is survived by her daughters- Sami Austin and Jane (Dennis) Harmon both of Columbus, MS; son- Tony (Judy) Austin of Newton, MS; grandchild- Riley (Ashley) Austin; four great-grandchildren; brothers- Ralph Newsome, and Donald Newsome; and sister- Ellen Jordan.
