Mildred Byars Tilley, 75 of Ethelsville, AL passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at her residence.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Redus Hall and Bro. Kenneth Henegar officiating.  The interment will be at Forest Cemetery, Ethelsville, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Tilley was born November 20, 1947, to the late Lavada Shaw and Adron Byars in Columbus, MS.  She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Ethelsville, AL.  Mrs. Tilley enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and keeping her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tilley was preceded in death by her brothers – Clarence (Virginia) Byars and Waymon Byars; brother-in-law – David Tilley; nephew – Seth Richards and father and mother-in-law – Louis (Snookum) Tilley.

Mrs. Tilley is survived by her husband – Vernice Tilley; sons – Gene Tilley and Jerry (Nicole) Tilley; daughter – Amy (Lee) Pannell; grandchildren – Macy (Dylan) Stafford, Hannah Tilley, Ethan Pannell, and Eli Pannell; great-grandchild – Milly Stafford; sisters – Clara Jean (Dennis) Patterson and Sheila (Byron Richard; sisters – in – law – Brenda Byars, Betty Tilley, and Melinda (Mark) McCrory; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Richie Byars, Blake Richards, Randy Tilley, Scott Tilley, Christopher McCrory, Collin McCrory, and Ethan Pannell; honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Clary, Scot Adams, Charles Perkins, Gary Rush, Jodie Adair, Shane Tilley, Robby Tilley, and all her great-nephews.
