Minnie Lou Henson, age 86, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Henson was born on February 1, 1932, in Gordo, AL to the late Lidge McCool and Estelle White McCool. She worked as a bus driver for Lowndes County School District for many years. Mrs. Henson loved to garden and plant flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as often as she could. Mrs. Henson also liked to can and put up vegetables from her garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- William Eugene Henson; sisters- Elzie McCool, Trannie Smith, Gladys Stinson, and Ruthie Junkin; and one grandchild- Lacey Jean Miller.

Mrs. Henson is survived by her sons- Jimmy (Cindra) Henson of Columbus, MS, and Wayne (Linda) Henson also of Columbus, MS; daughter- Tami (Peter Delmee) Henson of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren- Brittany (Ben) Miller Potter, Casey Jean Miller, and Catasha (Dan) Munn; great-grandchildren- Cameron, Aiden, Zack, and Zoe; and one great-great- grandchild- Ellie.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Owens, Cameron Munn, Bruce McCool, Raymond McCool, Bob Colt and Jeff Edmondson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Woodard, O.T. Moore, Dr. Doug Hill, and Billy Shaw.
