Murry Neon Bobitt, 70, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mr. Bobitt was born on August 13, 1950, in Columbus, MS to the late Mary Nell Bobitt and David Bobitt. He worked as a service tech for Sears for 45 years. Mr. Bobitt was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed cooking, traveling to the Smokey Mountains, and spending time with family. Mr. Bobitt was a member of the former Central United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bobitt is preceded in death by a grandchild- Brantley Bobitt, and his brother- Paul Bobitt.

Mr. Bobitt is survived by his wife- Renee James Bobitt of Columbus, MS; sons- Brian (Angela) Bobitt, and Drew (Shelbi) Young; daughters- Lauren (Chris) Davidson and Kourtney (Scott) Gilmore; grandchildren- Ali Simmons, Emily Simmons, Ashley Simmons, Kaylee Bobitt, Brianna Bobitt, and Sade Young; and sister- Gaila (Henry) Freeman.

Pallbearers will be Chris Davidson, Steve Flemming, Dean Goodman, Hunter Goodman, Noah Wright, and Drew Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Phillips, Bud Phillips, Ray Gore, Judge Jim Kitchens, Doug Curlee, Dr. William Gillespie III, and Dr. William Rosenblatt.
