Myra A. McAdams, 82, of Madison, AL passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care, in Huntsville, AL.

Visitation will be 11:00-12:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2022, at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at Millport City Cemetery, with Bro. Sammy Crawford and Bro. Tommy Gillon officiating, and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. McAdams was born February 28, 1940, in Millport, AL to the late Frelon Atkins and Marion Mouchette Atkins.  She graduated from Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and taught privately for fourteen years.  Mrs. McAdams was a resident of Columbus, MS for 60 years before moving to Madison, AL.   She was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church where she served as the organist for more than twenty-five years.

Mrs. McAdams is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Leon McAdams; daughters – Melissa Patterson, Allison Schuster, and Christy McAdams; grandchildren – Katie Patterson, Daniel Patterson, and Scott Schuster; and sister – Peggy Sanders.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Patterson, Scott Schuster, Tommy Sanders, Steve McAdams, Russ Cole, and Dave Cole.  The honorary pallbearer will be Joe Atkins.
