Nancy-Jane Skiwski, 67 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 7 – 9 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, June 14, 2013, at 3 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Pastor Larry Owens officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Skiwski was born April 12, 1946, in Tacoma Park, MD to Erma Jane Ellis and the late La Rue Cook. She earned her degree in nursing and became a registered nurse and worked as a manager for Children's Health Center for over 30 years. Mrs. Skiwski served with the Red Cross in Europe and was a member of the Medical Wives Association. She also managed the Marie H. Ellis Foundation to assist families in need. In addition to her father, Mrs. Skiwski is preceded in death by her grandson – Jaden Jace Skiwski and granddaughter – Ashli Michal Armstrong. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Skiwski is survived by her husband – Dr. Jacob Skiwski, Columbus, MS; son – Dr. Jason (Marie) Skiwski, Chattanooga, TN; daughters – Dr. Sara-Jane (Ian) Skiwski-Gerbode, San Jose, CA, Sabrina (Will) McDow, Columbus, MS; sister – Diane (Ed) Sturges, Columbus, MS; brother – Timothy (Linda) Cook, Battle Creek, MI; grandchildren – Kaitlyn Marie Skiwski, Jacob Riley Skiwski, Alexandra Elizabeth Skiwski, Jaren Alexander Skiwski, Sophia Janae Skiwski, and Abigail Anastasia McDow; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jason Skiwski, Riley Skiwski, Will McDow, Tim Cook, Ed Sturges, and Barry Simmons. Memorials may be made to the Marie H.
