Nathan Whitaker, 19 of Columbus, MS passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Grant Mitchell officiating.

Nathan was born August 5, 1999 in Columbus, MS to Jeffory and Katrina Gray Whitaker.  He was a 2017 graduate of New Hope High School, Columbus, MS.  Nathan was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, he enjoyed Pokemon Go, playing computer games, Anime, Deadpool and Marvel comics.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather – Jearl Whitaker, great-grandfathers – Alfred Gray and Billy Powell.

Nathan is survived by son – Drake Whitaker, Columbus, MS; daughter – Hadlee Whitaker, Columbus, MS; wife- Taylor Whitaker, Columbus, MS; parents – Jeffory and Katrina Gray Whitaker, Columbus, MS; twin brother – Johnathan Whitaker, Columbus, MS; brother – Bradley Frost, Clarkson, MS; sisters – Isabella Whitaker, Columbus, MS and Brittany Patterson, Eupora, MS; grandparents – Bobby and Tonya Gray, Cedar Bluff, MS and Estelle Whitaker, Columbus, MS; great-grandmothers – Alma Powell, Cedar Bluff, MS and Emma Gray, Columbus, MS; aunts – Sherry (Doug) Rollins, and Shontessa (William) Bird; uncles – Greg (Regina) Whitaker and Bobby Gray, II, god-mother- Jessi Benson; special friend – Rebecca Barnes, Columbus, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great aunts and uncles.

A candlelight vigil will be held at the crash site at the intersection of Crowe Rd. and Oswalt Rd in the New Hope Community at 4:30 PM on December 16, 2018.
